Celebrant: Rev. Fr. Armando Alejandro
The celebrant for the August 30 Mass will be Rev. Fr. Armando Alejandro. Fr. Armando Alejandro was born and raised in D’Hanis, TX, a rural ranching and farming community located fifty miles west of San Antonio. He is a life-long Roman Catholic who attended Saint Mary’s Seminary in Houston, TX and was ordained a priest of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter on June 29, 2020 by Bishop Steven Lopes.
Fr. Alejandro plays several instruments, including guitar, organ, drums, and others. He also enjoys singing Gregorian Chant and Renaissance polyphony, and studying the development of liturgy in the Roman Rite. His favorite saints are Saint Joseph, Saint Josemaría Escrivá, and Saint Benedict of Nursia. He is assigned to St. Timothy Catholic Church, an Ordinariate parish in Cantonsville, MD.
Fr. Alejandro and other Ordinariate priests will be traveling to Western NC to offer this Mass for an emerging group that is working towards starting an Ordinariate parish in our area. Immaculate Conception will be hosting this new community and their liturgies as they get off the ground. The first Masses will take place as announced, normally on Sunday evenings. All are welcome and all are encouraged to visit this beautiful form of the Mass. As with all liturgies during the pandemic, face coverings & signups are required (limited to 190)
